How do others really see you

as you live out your life…

that night the Lord appeared to solomon in a dream, and God said, “what do you want? ask, and I will give it to you!” give me an understanding heart so that i can govern your people well and know the difference between right and wrong. for who by himself is able to govern this great people of yours?” 12 I will give you what you asked for! I will give you a wise and understanding heart such as no one else has had or ever will have! 1 kings 3:5,9,12

'Praise be to the Lord your God, who has delighted in you and placed you on the throne of israel. because of the Lord ’s eternal love for israel, He has made you king to maintain justice and righteousness.” ' 1 kings 10:9

solomon didn’t ask God for material things, power, good looks, women, etc., he wanted to make the best decisions in leading God’s people and simply do what was right in God’s eyes. how many of us would have asked that instead of the things of this world? in my selfish and debauched living, i’m pretty sure i would’ve asked for money or power, probably both because i was a greedy bastard.

this may sound prideful, ungodly, as i can only hope that when a non-believer sees my life they would give glory and praise to God as queen sheba did after meeting solomon for the first time. just observing his life, being around and speaking with him, the way he carried himself, answered her and other people’s questions, she knew that God’s wisdom and hands were all over his life.

definitely working on the way i speak and act that it does show what Jesus' has done in me, what the Lord has redeemed - a dead man walking to someone who is fully alive in Him. would love that the conversation about Jesus happens because others want to know what is so different about my life. then from there those that do not believe would be saved. truly living out my life as a Christian is more important to me than just speaking about it; don’t ever want to be caught as someone who is all mouth and no action.

dear Heavenly Father, teach me that my life would resemble what a true follower of your Son, Jesus, should look like. show me how to be compassionate, empathetic, to demonstrate love, kindness, to speak gently, and have a servant’s heart. in doing so, open the hearts of those that you place in my life that do not know our Lord and give me the wisdom to have open, honest dialogue that leads them to a realization of a life without you, Jesus, is empty and void. in your precious and splendid name i pray, amen!
