Obedience has a price
commitment to see it through…
'“So then, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the vision from heaven. First to those in Damascus, then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and then to the Gentiles, I preached that they should repent and turn to God and demonstrate their repentance by their deeds. That is why some Jews seized me in the temple courts and tried to kill me. But God has helped me to this very day; so I stand here and testify to small and great alike. I am saying nothing beyond what the prophets and Moses said would happen— that the Messiah would suffer and, as the first to rise from the dead, would bring the message of light to his own people and to the Gentiles.” ' Acts 26:19-23
continuing from yesterday, paul heard from The Lord throughout his calling, and he was committed to doing what he was told to do. sometimes there is a price to pay for speaking the truth; in this case it was his life - the jews didn’t like what he was teaching.
this didn’t matter to paul, as his encounter with Jesus was too powerful to refute it was anything else but Him. with the drive to fulfill what he was called for, he continued to speak, sharing The Gospel, because the lost were many and he, himself, was found by Christ, hoping others would come to repentance and be saved.
i’m hoping that i, too, would be so committed in my relationship with The Lord that whatever the price, i will not waiver. still, it does nor will not compare to what Jesus paid - His life for ours.
dear Heavenly Father, thank you for helping me through life, my calling, as i do struggle with both, i am overwhelmed when you pour out your love and support me in the good and bad. may i stay strong and committed to whatever it is that you are asking me to do. in Jesus’ mighty and wonderful name i pray, amen!
