Having Trouble Seeing Clearly?

perhaps it’s not your eyes that need to be checked…

'For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. ' Romans 1:20

this may be a bit different for me than a non-believer who reads this passage and doesn’t get it. when you look all around us, especially where we live, it is hard not to see the beauty in all of nature - from the mountains, to the ocean, to the sky above. we a diverse ecosystem - desert, rainforest, snow, and many others; from tropical, semi-arid, ice, and temperate climates. hard to ever believe that when you look all around us that you don’t marvel how it all came to pass.

i’ve heard this from several Christian apologists and definitely agree: when you see a building, was there not a builder; an architect behind the design; an artist behind the painting. how then can one simply dismiss the reality of an Almighty God - the author and finisher, creator of all Heaven and earth. saying all that we see around us was from the 'big bang’, that “something” was made out of nothing. this just blows my mind, and again, that is just how i personally feel.

it’s hard for me to understand why people struggle to see the world around us and not ever ask, who made all of it? i know i have. i’m not dismissive in that some people genuinely believe that the world came about through random events/chance - time + space + matter. that we also evolved from primates. i just don’t see that, plus the fact that we haven’t evolved more beyond what we are makes it hard for me to be persuaded.

in this verse it, paul does tell it like it is - we have no excuse in not believing in who made it all - people, animals, nature, etc. what came into existence was given the breath of life (the invisible qualities) from our Creator, God The Father.

all i can ever hope is never bending, changing what i know to be true - there is One God, and He alone created the universe and everything from the beginning of time. what i see around me and get to experience, there is no other reason for its existence other than that He provided it for us to enjoy His handiwork and is happy when we do. i will tell this to anyone who wants to know the reason for the joy that i have even when things are not always going perfect in my life.

Father God, i know you are real, and know that you did create all things. may i always have a heart of gratitude and appreciation and not take them for granted. i thank you for the beautiful place we call home, the wonderful people you’ve surrounded my family and i with, the waves you let me ride that takes my stress and worries away, and so much more. i love you, we love you, in Jesus’ name i pray, amen!
