make time to be with god, daily…

'And Hezekiah prayed to the Lord: “Lord, the God of Israel, enthroned between the cherubim, you alone are God over all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth. Give ear, Lord, and hear; open your eyes, Lord, and see; listen to the words Sennacherib has sent to ridicule the living God.

“It is true, Lord, that the Assyrian kings have laid waste these nations and their lands. They have thrown their gods into the fire and destroyed them, for they were not gods but only wood and stone, fashioned by human hands. Now, Lord our God, deliver us from his hand, so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you alone, Lord, are God.”

Then Isaiah son of Amoz sent a message to Hezekiah: “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I have heard your prayer concerning Sennacherib king of Assyria. ' 2 Kings 19:15-20

this can never be said enough, prayer should be your first choice, not your last resort. time and again, you often only hear of or see people pray when they are at their lowest, in serious trouble, don’t know what else to do. rather than seeking God, we look to others, ourselves to try and get us out of whatever situation we are in.

hezekiah sought The Lord, praised Him, asked Him, and his cries were heard. this is a constant reminder that we should come with a heart that wants not ‘things’ or stuff, rather to have a deeper, more intimate, relationship with the God of Heaven and earth. to let the words come out of our mouths to truly offer praise and worship to our King. when we start from that posture, and fully put our trust in Him can He begin to work in us.

dear Heavenly Father, we thank you that you do hear us, that you don’t turn your face or shut us out, even if we deserve it you still love us. may i always glorify you before i start asking or rambling on. may my prayer time be one of commitment and focus to hear from you Lord Jesus. may your voice be heard above the world and please help to silence the noise around me. may we sing your praises all day long. in Jesus’ name i pray, amen!
