Will You Live Forever?
frailty of life…
47 Remember how short my life is, how empty and futile this human existence! 48 No one can live forever; all will die. No one can escape the power of the grave. ~psalm 89:47-48~
this is not to be a downer or morbid, only to help us realize that we don’t know how long we truly have on earth and we shouldn’t take that for granted. there are other passages that discuss this topic:
2 Peter 1:13-14
Isaiah 38:12
Psalm 103:15-16
2 Corinthians 4:18
Hebrews 1:10-12
as i have gotten older, i do find myself from time to time reflecting on the past and future - things i did wrong, areas i need to improve, parts of my life that has gotten better, where i’m headed, etc.
from all the craziness going on in the world today - wars in europe and the middle east, famine & drought, floods and storms to earthquakes, and everything in-between, you see death around us. it is so easy to not think about it because we just go on throughout our day, living life, hoping for the best yet oblivious that at any time they can be taken from life to death. how sad when i think about those who don’t know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior, what is their future and where or who is their hope in?
this is a constant reminder to never forget that we are put here on earth for a purpose. one of which is to share the good news, The Gospel of Jesus Christ, The Savior, The Redeemer of the world, and that life does not end with, but true living begins and is in Him alone. need to share my testimony of who God is and the my life restored through Jesus. that although this world will pass away, we have an eternal promise to be with Him in the end.
Father God, thank you that through your Son, Jesus, we have access to you and an eternal life in your Kingdom. we know that death and sin has been conquered and that you DO NOT want any to perish but to have everlasting life through Christ. may i be given the opportunity to share The Gospel with whomever you place in my life to help. may you be know and glorified in those conversation, and please direct the words that come out of my mouth so it becomes attractive to those that hear them. to you goes all the glory, honor, and praise Lord Jesus, amen!
