When you need someone to talk to
isn’t it great to know that God answers when you call…
'Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe. I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings. For you, God, have heard my vows; you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name. ' Psalms 61:1-5
in times of need, emotionally, it is always comforting to know you can count on certain people in your life that will be there for you. unfortunately, it is not always possible for them to be available because they, too, have a life and may be going through their own situation. when that happens you are least likely to ask for the help you may need it the most so as not to be a burden on them.
the trouble with that is it does not resolve your issue. it may even make it worse because you were hoping that your inner circle will always drop what they are doing to help. this is not practical nor realistic as each of us has our own challenges to deal with.
fortunately we have a loving, Heavenly Father, Our God, who we can call on anytime, anywhere, and watches out for us - even when we are not sure He is around or paying attention.
simply taking time out of your day to pray, meditate, read your Bible, playing worship music, etc. - all are ways to connect with Him. so when you are weary, afraid, or need protection against the enemy, remember to call on God, ask Jesus for His Presence, invite the Holy Spirit and His Power to help you overcome and get through whatever it is.
O Lord, My God, thank you that we are not alone in this world. that you hear us when we call, protected by your strong arms, whisking us away into the safety of your covering. teach me not to fear calling out to you, instead that should be the first thing we do in any situation or circumstance we face. i love you, we love you Lord, and i humbly ask this in Jesus’ name i pray, amen!
