Unsure What to Say in Difficult Situations
ever wonder how those words came at the right time…
'And so you will bear testimony to me. But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves. For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict. ' Luke 21:13-15
But when you are arrested and stand trial, don’t worry in advance about what to say. Just say what God tells you at that time, for it is not you who will be speaking, but the Holy Spirit. Mark 13:11
When you are arrested, don’t worry about how to respond or what to say. God will give you the right words at the right time. For it is not you who will be speaking—it will be the Spirit of your Father speaking through you. Matthew 10:19-20
there have been times i’ve wondered how i got out of a: jam, divisive conversation, argument, potential fight, and it all worked out for my good. no one (myself and the other party) got hurt - physically, mentally, and emotionally. it wasn’t just once that this happened but several times over the course of my life.
the singular lesson to learn here is repeated in each book - that we must not worry. there are many verses that we are told this, and here are few to remind ourselves with: 1 peter 5:7, proverbs 12:25, matthew 6:28-30
We lose sight of God's fatherly care when we worry ~Armand Tiffe~
we often beg God to show up when we are at our lowest, hurting, frustrated, angry, etc., what we keep forgetting is that He never leaves us. if our hearts and intentions are right, that we are following what His Word instructs us to, He is the one who fights our battles.
remind myself of what The Word of God teaches me about worry and anxiety and how to combat it. that through prayer and a my focus on Him, i am able to take my attention away from the problem and to the very solution in the equation - that is Jesus.
yes, sometimes it’s easier said than done. problem is that we forget who to turn to until it’s too late. i need to place my hope in Christ because no one else has and will help me the way that He does.
dear God, thank you that you do show up regardless of my faults and failures. that the God of infinite love and compassion is right now fighting my battles. thank you for not abandoning me when that is something i deserved. you are a good, good Father. teach me to not worry and trust in you and your plans for my family and i. in your Precious and Holy Name i pray, amen!
