Who Do You Serve?

God or your worldly desires…

' “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” ' Luke 16:13

just like you can’t be sad or angry while you’re laughing, you can’t love God and the very things that separate us from Him. they just don’t mix nor were they supposed to begin with. you are either frowning or smiling and can’t do both at the same time.

this verse speaks to where your heart and desires lie - with our Heavenly Father or the ungodly lifestyle you want so badly? for a time in my life i did chase after riches, unending high from drugs, women, material goods, etc. it was all fleeting and just as quickly as it came it went right back out. nothing to show for it other than heartache and misery.

our life can and does get better if you get back on the path that our Lord created for you and i. the time lost cannot be regained, fortunately what we still do have is the future.

money will buy you things, but still no happiness; money will bring people in your life, but it does not guarantee healthy relationships; money might get your plenty girls, but not true love; money may make you feel like you have no worries in the world, and yet still have no security and freedom.

let it be known, i commit as joshua 24:15 tells it - But if you refuse to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve. But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.” i’m done with that past life as i know the promises of God through Jesus and i want all of it.

dear Heavenly Father, thank you for helping me see when i was blinded by the desires of this world. continue to help me stay focused on what your Word promises, following your Son, Jesus, and to walk in the Spirit of Truth. may my life be lived out that others come to know you. in your Holy and Precious Name i pray Lord Jesus, amen!
