Unembarrassed and Shameless
sometimes not a good thing, this time it is…
'For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”' Romans 1:16-17
looking back i don’t feel i was ever afraid to share The Good News, The Gospel; i do though know i was unprepared to have deep, meaningful, conversations where i could articulate a certain viewpoint for people who disagreed. with that, i guess it was more the fear of not saying the right thing or that i would potentially lose someone if i didn’t convey the right message clearly.
paul spoke about the righteousness of God, the Power of God and salvation that comes to those who believe. deep down i feel we all want everyone we know to come to salvation through Jesus. what i am embarrassed to say is that i haven’t had much dialogue with people recently. spatters of conversations when some of our employees are riding with me, we are on the same job site and we are having small talk, and other times when they are dealing with something.
when the opportune time comes, guided by the Holy Spirit, i can only hope that God finds use for me in discussions where i can share who Jesus is, what He has done for me, for us, and how He alone has the power to change a person’s life. when it does, i’d like to have the strength and courage to speak up and not worry about what i’m going to say and how i will do. just wanting to push forward and have an honest, heart-to-heart moment that brings others to Christ.
dear Heavenly Father, like paul, i am not ashamed, only wishing to have the chance to share in my interactions with others. please guide my conversations, having the Holy Spirit speak through me. may these moments lead people right to you Lord Jesus. you are the answer to all their questions. may i be found worthy to be used for Kingdom purposes and to bring glory and honor to you always. in Jesus’ name i pray, amen!
