1road leads to heartache and pain, the other leads to life.

hopefully you choose the latter…

'Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people. For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.' Romans 5:18-19

i feel that people who do not want to hear The Word of God is likely due to their not wanting to believe what is says is true. partly because if they had been told some of the words and stories in The Bible - sin, outcast, immorality, condemnation, death, and even hell - it would turn them off or scare them into not wanting to hear more if that is all they heard.

the story of the fall of adam and eve is hard to hear because something that was supposed to be so beautiful and perfect, God creating us for Himself, to love and be loved, whole, blameless, no health (mental, physical, emotional, spiritual) issues existed, and were basically in “Heaven on earth” basically ends when they screwed up big time. both were told to simply not to do (1) thing, it was not even a big one at that, and the consequence for disobedience would be very severe.

unfortunately, like some/many of us, they just could not resist the temptation from the devil. instead of enjoying everything else that God had provided for them, they fell for his dirty tricks and disobeyed God and tried to hide from their mistake. this is something i understand very well and believe others would relate from their past transgressions too. the sad and sucky part is that crappy feeling afterwards when you know you should not have done what you did but went through with it anyhow. you then get upset, disappointed, perhaps others are made at you because you hurt them, etc. and it becomes a death spiral as you try to make up for your mistake.

fast forward when we heard The Gospel, The Good News of Jesus, and found that a voice, greater than the evil one who led us into misery, does speak to us, does hear us, does acknowledge us, even though we are sinners, and wants to have a relationship with Him. He tells us He loves and forgives us from our past, present, and even future mistakes, our sins, if we only come to believe in Him. that he would take our mess and make us into His masterpiece. as i have heard it said, what an uneven exchange - Jesus takes all the bad and returns to us nothing but good.

it is hard to understand why anyone alive would not accept this amazing gift of redemption, the cleansing of our soul, our life, God making us whole again. i understand what i have, and when i lose myself to sin, i know to come back to Christ to ask for forgiveness, and do my best to not do whatever it is again. do not want to ever take for granted the sacrifice of our Savior giving His life as an atonement for my sins and want to share the love of God through His Son, Jesus, wherever and whenever i can.

Father God, thank you that the mistake of adam was corrected through your undying love for us in your Son Jesus. without His sacrifice, we all would be dead in our trespasses, instead we have life every lasting in and through Him. may gratitude and reverence be on my lips, my thoughts, and always in my heart for you. i love you, we love you, in Jesus’ name i pray, amen!
