If you love it, don’t lose it

how important is what you have…

'“I love all who love me. Those who search will surely find me. ' Proverbs 8:17

ever lost something you felt was precious and important that you looked tirelessly for it and would not stop until it’s found? as a child, your favorite toy; teenager, your phone; adult, your keys; senior, your wallet/id, or whatever it is. they all have meaning or significance and is valuable to you.

in the same way, this verse reminds us that ‘if’ we love The Lord and search for Him, we will find Him. remember, it is not He that is lost, but us - the sheep that wandered off and needs his shepherd to bring him back home, where it is safe and we will be cared for.

if we treasure Jesus as we would a diamond (or wedding ring) or whatever is of importance to us, would we ever forget where He is? or, do we set aside and forget Him until we need His help?

this is a great reminder that if we love Jesus, we can always find Him. He isn’t distant, uncaring, or unavailable. take time to pray, have a 2-way conversation, get in The Word, meditate, and wait patiently knowing He’s heard you/me and in due time it will be revealed or answered.

teach me O Lord to be in your presence. that i can call on you and be comforted. to know your everlasting love is always here for me and my family. may i seek your presence all the days of my life. Jesus, in your Precious and Holy Name i pray, amen!
