A meeting place with The Lord
a place set apart for listening and hearing from him…
89 When Moses entered the tent of meeting to speak with the Lord, he heard the voice speaking to him from between the two cherubim above the atonement cover on the ark of the covenant law. In this way the Lord spoke to him. ~numbers 7:89~
i don’t recall a time that i hadn’t wanted to hear from The Lord too. just imagine being moses and having that access through the tent of meeting and actually hearing His voice. how sweat and pleasant that must’ve been. that the God of the universe and Heaven would make time to personally interact with him, with his people. my challenge has always been to listen carefully and intently, hoping to feel the prompting, and to hear the small still voice. i know from listening to the pastors and others that they have and still do hear from The Lord.
verses on hearing from God/Jesus:
For God does speak—now one way, now another—though no one perceives it ~job 33:14~
'My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. ' ~John 10:27~
'So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ. ' ~romans 10:17~
Jesus Christ Is God’s Son
1Long ago God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets. 2And now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son. God promised everything to the Son as an inheritance, and through the Son he created the universe. ~hebrews 1:1-2~
Warning Against Unbelief
7 So, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you hear his voice, 8 do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the wilderness, 9 where your ancestors tested and tried me, though for forty years they saw what I did. 10 That is why I was angry with that generation; I said, ‘Their hearts are always going astray, and they have not known my ways.’ 11 So I declared on oath in my anger, ‘They shall never enter my rest.’ ” ~hebrews 3:7-11~
pray, be still, reflect on what you believe God is saying to you, and wait patiently until you know for sure. this may not be 100% Biblically correct, just something i need to do for myself as i still struggle in this area of my walk.
Father God, thank you that you love us so much, want to have a meaningful relationship with your children that you do speak to us, personally, making time for each and everyone one of us. may we constantly seek after you, to hear your voice and do as you ask us. in Jesus’ name i pray, amen!
