Who do you run to in times of trouble?

do you stand firm or run like a scared little child…

'God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. ' Psalms 46:1-3

why were lighthouses built? per NOAA: they serve to warn mariners of dangerous shallows and perilous rocky coasts, and they help guide vessels safely into and out of harbors. The messages of these long-trusted aids to navigation are simple: either STAY AWAY, DANGER, BEWARE! or COME THIS WAY!

i used a lighthouse because of how powerful they are and how it brought calm to a dangerous situation. power (strength) because of the light that it gave off, could be seen from afar, warned vessels to stay away or that this is where you need to come through to be safe (refuge). it was always on (ever-present) at night that it could be seen so you didn’t have to be scared that you were lost and going to smash into a rock or land.

i know that i can run to God knowing He is always there to protect me. i’m guided through the Holy Spirit (lighthouse) and have much more clarity to see things that are good along with bad. in Jesus, i don’t fear as i used to as He promised to be there with me.

Father God, thank you that we are covered and protected by the blood of Jesus. that through His sacrifice, we can truly live. that is what i want for my family and i. in His loving name i pray, amen!
