Poem of The Week - February 2023, week 2
drinking living water
Every Tear
Once there was a heart so tender
One by one stones of death were thrown
Words of mockery that cut ever so deeply
Eyes of cold indifference draining from the heart any trace of warmth
Arrows of hatred needing no words
Day by day this tender heart was beginning to break
One last hope
She appeared as an answer to the deepest longings of a lifetime
No more tears except of joy
Smiles with a purity of gently falling snow
Embraces that would never end
In one hour it was over
All that remained was a gaping emptiness
Oceans of tears falling into a dark void
A pit so deep that knew no bottom
Only the one who saves each and every tear could reach down to the uttermost
And heal the most broken of hearts
Only the one who wept his precious golden tears for the brokenness of his creation could wipe away every tear
Only the one with the tenderest of hearts could bring a restoration of everything that was lost
In one hour one broken heart knew that he was loved with an everlasting love
