4 Tests of a Dream

Test of rejection

Genesis 37:27 - not everyone is going to like you; sharing your dream with the wrong people can get you killed, not everyone can handle what you share with them, not everyone likes you too; jealousy may be provoked in others; rejection is inevitable - are we living for man's praise or God's approval?

Elisha, Peter, Moses, Jesus - all were rejected; they hated the Lord, they will also hate you/me.

proverbs - the fear of man is a snare, a trap; we don't live for the public's opinion

your dream will not always be approved by your family, friends, co-workers, etc; can you still be sweet even when rejected, can you keep your peace, can you still love people despite what they say?

you don't have to have the right job, a perfect working condition, if you have the favor of God on your life you will flourish, whatever you do you will prosper

test of temptation

genesis 39:26 - your temptation is easy to face if you remember it is a me and God thing

you can have my jacket, but you can't jack my dream; you can have my coat, but you can't have my calling;

the test was of loyalty and faithfulness of God, not seduction

Faithful A) in 1st things; B) in small things; C) in things that don't belong to you

dream and calling of God was greater than what we are being tempted with/by

God is Faithful; trust Him; He provides a way, He won't let us be tempted to where we break

you don't have to stay in your temptation; you don't have to indulge in the passing pleasures of sin; you don't have to give yourself over to that moment.

test of isolation

sometimes when God does His best work is when you are in private, works when there's no eyeballs on us; FOMO is keeping us from our destiny;

me + nothing = everything; I am sufficient; I am your peace; I am your provider; God does powerful work in our isolation; He builds us up in private

you often feel everybody has forgotten you; forgot to get invited, include you, a priority, your idea, your introduction, etc; the Lord doesn't leave nor forsake us.

Joseph continued to stay sweet, kind, serving, and the Favor of God was on his life.

God has a fast forward button, Joseph went from prison to the palace; He can take us wherever He feels we are needed.

from potipher to pharoah's house, God used joseph and can use us for something greater.
