Hope and Love
hebrews 10:23-24
S - 23 Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. 24 Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.
O - hope and trust goes hand in hand. how many times have you been let down in the past by someone and, if done too many times, you begin to feel differently about that person.
sachi and yujin were no exceptions. they had hoped i would change, and while i said i would (even promised to), i eventually led them down the road of disappointment. after a while, they got tired of it and stopped believing in me. i don’t blame them, nor did anyone else.
with God and Jesus, we have seen what they have done in our lives - that their Word, their Promises are something we can count on and they will not let us down. may not always be on our timing, which is a good thing, and we can expect that it will turn out far better with them in our lives than we could on our own abilities.
now, with the good we have seen in our lives (regardless of the times of struggling and difficulties), we can in turn reciprocate by helping others or doing little and big things for Kingdom purposes that benefits those around us and in the community.
A - don’t give up hope as our God is in control and we need to believe that 100%. in service to others, lift each other up and then go do some good for someone who isn’t expecting it. show the love of Christ through our selfless service to others.
P - dear Heavenly Father, thank you that we are able to place our hope in You, in our Lord and Savior, Jesus, because your Word never returns void. may we trust you implicitly and learn to serve others as you did for us. in Jesus’ name i pray, amen!
