Being Tested

jesus understands what you are going through

S - Hebrews 1:18 Since he himself has gone through suffering and testing, he is able to help us when we are being tested.

O - in life trials, like when you are in recovery, you will feel alone, sometimes paralyzed by fear, the inability to cope, because we/you are used to doing things (y)our way. even if you recognize you have a problem but don’t know how or what to do next.

regardless of what your vice is/was or the challenge you are facing, you may feel as if no one understands and that they cannot begin to know what you are going through. even at your breaking points - whether you choose or are forced to change, everyone needs someone to turn to.

continuing with the recovery theme, one of the steps you take is to get help from people who have already gone through what you are dealing with now. will it be easy, are they perfect, will you get it right the first time - majority of the time the answer is a big fat “NO.”

this is where our Lord and Savior Jesus comes into the picture; He is the only one who can understand your pain, suffering, heartache, or whatever range of emotions and ailments that your are dealing with. the ridicule, the accusations, betrayal, along with pain and suffering He went through in His short life is beyond what we humanly could endure in our lifetime.

A - letting it all go to Jesus requires 100% trust, something we are not always good at or know how to do, but we must anyhow. what He promised was peace, joy, and love that is unending and always available and is what everyone needs. we only need to turn our lives completely over to Him and then we just have to ask and believe in Him wholeheartedly.

P - dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your Son, Jesus, who provides comfort and love and is there for us always. i know i could not do life without Him and am grateful for His continued presence in my and my family’s lives. help build my trust in Him implicitly for all our needs. in His mighty and powerful name i pray, amen!
